Chris Scheurich is a photographer born and bred in one of America’s most soulful and culturally rich cities, New Orleans. The son of a documentary photographer, he grew up deeply immersed in the rich cultural tapestry of his hometown, tagging along with his father while documenting everything on film.
With work rooted in observation, movement, and character—his images contain a strong sense of place, and an editorial energy that never feels contrived. .
Before focusing on photography, Scheurich spent his twenties as a professional blues guitarist, an endeavor that continues to shape his work. The influence can be felt in photographs that are attentive to timing, movement, and atmosphere, balancing spontaneity with a strong sense of composition.
